Those mom instincts will kick in and you'll rock her anywhere.Brandihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00269013380622854851noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4733054970037956253.post-49034569607935533542009-04-19T09:28:00.000-07:002009-04-19T09:28:00.000-07:00I had an old recliner that I used. When Elijah was hungry again, I would simply sit up and nurse him. It was the best thing for the first few months.Matt and Christyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14546999533071378317noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4733054970037956253.post-80343951022933166592009-04-18T20:14:00.000-07:002009-04-18T20:14:00.000-07:00I had 0 chairs when Liv was a baby. I got a glider for Christmas (for Claire) I really love it. It has padding on everything. Personally I can't nurse in the rockers because the arms are so high up that the baby can't fit and it is awkward for me... I don't really get how to situate myself while nursing... Anyway- when looking at them pretend to nurse a baby to see what works best for you!!! Also- rocking/gliding really does help put them to sleep! I reccomend that you get one- it is a good investment.Sarah Petersonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00265784979854061262noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4733054970037956253.post-12889676335228735272009-04-18T19:00:00.000-07:002009-04-18T19:00:00.000-07:00I have a one of those comfy rockers and I love it!...I have a one of those comfy rockers and I love it! Ours was from a gently used furniture store and I have loved rocking my babies in it. I've used some gliders and unless you buy the cream of the crop, they aren't that comfortable to me, at the least the seat isn't anyway. Go for comfort. If you get a glider (the gliding motion is great) definitely make sure that you have padding on the arms and extra padding in the seat.Annahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03121986630538943557noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4733054970037956253.post-74134835060638978922009-04-18T14:14:00.000-07:002009-04-18T14:14:00.000-07:00I'd go with a glider...you'll be amazed at how muc...I'd go with a glider...you'll be amazed at how much time you'll spend in that chair...especially for the first few months. Be comfy! I loved my glider and missed it with my last baby. It had gone through four babies and was trashed. I have a rocking chair but it's not nearly as comfy. Also, definately get the ottoman.Andreahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09402095947032565577noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4733054970037956253.post-8300259642193308122009-04-17T13:09:00.000-07:002009-04-17T13:09:00.000-07:00Rocker! Ben got me one when I was about to have Luke, and it is the most used piece of furniture we have. There are so many long nights with a newborn and if you can't be in bed, choose the next most comfortable option...a rocker in my opinion. :) good luck!Whitmer Familyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11544471354675277821noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4733054970037956253.post-91096544979930100522009-04-17T13:03:00.000-07:002009-04-17T13:03:00.000-07:00Which ever you get, make sure it is comfy and does...Which ever you get, make sure it is comfy and doesn't make noise when you get up. I would get something to put your feet on. I recovered them but ended up getting rid of the arm rest cushions, & now I wish I would have kept them. I really like the big soft chair ones too. I have totally coveted the ones in the nursing mothers room at church, they are SO comfy! you might be able to find those kind cheaper at Eugene Liquidators on 99 & Roosevelt, or on Craigslist. Craigslist is the bomb! You can get anything you need & super cheap.Carina & Danhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02750727346960053138noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4733054970037956253.post-24907441271577448002009-04-16T23:05:00.000-07:002009-04-16T23:05:00.000-07:00When we had our first, Jeff and I bought a leather...When we had our first, Jeff and I bought a leather recliner (on the advice of friends). I swear that was the best purchase ever made. It may not be the most beautiful/decor-friendly, but definetly worth it. I cannot tell you how many times I have fallen asleep in that chair with one of the girls. COMFORT is the way to go, especially at 1:00 am when you are TIRED. Anyway....I suggest going for comfort over looks!Swanson Familyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05244056803220183831noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4733054970037956253.post-25142575370480200332009-04-16T21:52:00.000-07:002009-04-16T21:52:00.000-07:00I don't know much about either - we've never had o...I don't know much about either - we've never had one. But I would definitely recommend getting something. We have a rocker-recliner and you definitely need the motion. Rocking does wonders for helping them to settle down and even get to sleep as infants. Not too recently, but at least within the last 6 months I have used it with Ethan. It can take a whiny, cranky, squirmy toddler (you have to hold 'em tight though) and calm them down if you are patient enough. I say, ultimately, go for comfort as your #1, looks #2.WASHINGTON SOUTHWORTHShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13774656095350684326noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4733054970037956253.post-76888697546070070572009-04-16T21:06:00.000-07:002009-04-16T21:06:00.000-07:00My parents got us a glider and I don't know what I...My parents got us a glider and I don't know what I would do without it. I think if you are going to be nursing, padded arms are the way to go. Nursing it difficult in the begining. Trying to make it comfortable for both of you is hard and I think the paded arms are a must have. I think you would be grateful to have them when your up every 2 hours or so through the night. The Seaton Familyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16053574389854385529noreply@blogger.com
