It's a baby.....

BOY!

I was so getting the boy vibe for the past few months! Seriously, I was. As much as I hoped for a girl....I know, it doesn't matter, and I'm a terrible person for even having a preference, but I was still secretly hoping. But there we were in the middle of the ultrasound, and we get to the pelvic region, and it was SOOOOO obvious.....but the ultrasound technician said she would have to look later to be 100% sure....ofcourse I loved hearing that, but even with my lack of knowledge about what babies look like on ultrasounds, there was no way a girl could look like that! So, 15 minutes later, we're back to the same region, and it was confirmed 100%. So, Chad is ecstatic, and I'm starting to love the idea....I mean, girls are just so adorable, and their rooms are funner to design, and their clothes are so fun, and girls like girly things....and HELLO, TUTUS are SOOOO cute on little girls. Boys are cool. Boys........um.........have less hair to deal with. Boys like sports and getting outside and I love those things. But....boys like video games (UGH!). Chad will be able to teach him all kinds of cool stuff. Okay, I still have a girl bias that I need to get rid of. BOYS ARE COOL. Please people, tell me why boys are cool!!!! They scream less than girls when they're a bit older. They make Dad happy. Every family needs a boy in it....so....it had to happen some time. What else is good about boys?

Okay, I know it won't matter, and I'll love my little baby to pieces. I'm just adjusting right now. : )

Right after the ultrasound, Chad's mom took us shopping for boy clothes. So awesome! We got the cutest things....which made me feel better, knowing boy stuff is really cute too. She totally spoiled us....well....the baby.... it made me feel so happy and loved. My mumsie also bought me an orchid....my favorite....which I think was needed to balance out the masculinity/testerone in this household. Luckily, Dakota is a girl.....but she's a serious tomboy.....so, I still feel outnumbered.

Sorry, no pics, our camera isn't working so well.

Boys are SO COOL!!! Just talk to Emily (Jolley). I had a blast doing Ethan's room once we figured out a theme and it fits perfect because he is so into TRUCKS!! I did a transportation theme (because I don't really like sports themed baby rooms - just a preference) and totally loved doing a sort of old school boy thing with cars, trucks, planes, etc.
And their clothes are fun too! They look so studly when all jazzed up for church in their Sunday best! Or just chilling in jeans and a hoodie. Trust me, I have had no problem filling Ethan's closet!
And the BEST is that even if he is "all boy" and making messes and climbing on things or getting dirty or making his toy cars crash, etc., etc. he still gives the BEST hugs, kisses and loves. Raise them right and boys treat their moms so well. I LOVE my little buddy.
There. Have I convinced you of the coolness of boys yet?!?! :)

Boys are awesome!! :) You'll have a cute little boy to snuggle with, and he'll adore you! Even better, someday, if you have a little girl, she'll have a big brother, and that is awesome! :)

I think boy's rooms can be JUST as cute. I saw this animal theme in potterybarn kids, and it was SO CUTE! It was like African animal theme. I LOVED IT. It actually made me WAY excited to have a boy. However, girls do seem in my comfort zone...I wonder why? HA not- I have a billion girls in my family, THAT's why! That's awesome though- congrats!

awww Jess! You'll love having a boy! Just think, he can be your little Gilbert! Now we'll have a boy to play in our skits with all of us! You'll enjoy having a little gentleman, and all of the fun things that come along with it! It will great for your next child to have a big brother, whether it's a boy or a girl ;)...what a way to set the tone! He'll be SO cute in his little suit and tie, and in onesies/overalls!!! Yes, we LOVEEEE the girl stuff, but this way he gets all the spoilings cuz he's your first! I'm SO excited for you & Chad! We should get together soon!!! Congrats again!

Personal bias, but I think every little girl needs a big brother and if the first is a girl... (and if that's my bias of course we'll be given a girl first.) While we were decorating our foster care rooms I lived on Rate My Space to get ideas decorating a gender neutral room. I came across some SUPPER COOL baby boy rooms. This one is my favorite http://www.roomzaar.com/rate-my-space/Nurseries/Modern-Boys-Nursery/detail.esi?oid=513800
Congrats on your handsome baby boy!

Congrats! I actually wanted a boy first just so he could be the protector type but I got a girl and then my next one i was 100% positive it was a little boy and it was again a girl. I promise you will love this little boy to pieces he will have you wrapped around his little chubby fingers! You are sooo creative im sure you wont have a problem coming up with something adorable yet manly for his room! congrats again

Oh I could go on for hours about how cool boys are...wanna trade?!

Shopping for them might not be as fun, but EVERYTHING ELSE IS!!!! Oh my goodness I'm so excited for you guys, that's such great news!

My boys don't play video games, and Easton loves to play outside, at the park, color. All his friends are girls so he loves girly things too. He's just the best and your boy is going to be the best too!

I'm a tad jealous!

Congrats!

Boys are the greatest. Elijah has so much energy and that translates to personality! What a fun little boy I have! I know that you will love having a little boy. Just think- if anything, teenage boys are WAY easier to deal with than teenage girls. Also, you will have two men in your life to spoil you! I love having a baby boy who has a crush on Mommy. Nothing is better that a little boy kiss!

WAHOOO! Can I just say that my little bro Chad (who isn't so little anymore... I mean have you SEEN the kid lately?) was the most adorable baby in my whole family. I was pretty darn cute, but holy cow he was a doll! It was so fun to watch him somersault down the hallway and put on all his "trip" gear. He was a blast. I love that kid!

hahha, that's wonderful. I understand wanting a girl and being dissapointed. I mean- I don't personally know, but I don't think you're bad or wrong for hoping for a girl and being dissapointed that you didn't get one. You will get a girl later. And like you said, once the baby comes, you will love him so much you will have forgotten you wanted a girl, or you won't care. One thing that i think is cool about boys is- Lizzie my sister taught Tanner her son to compliment her, so everyday he tells her how much he loves her and how beautiful she is, and he'll compliment her outfit sometimes. Just think, you get to raise a little gentleman that you wish you cuold have had around growing up in school. Think of all the stupid boys you knew. You get to raise a good one! As for decorations... you can still totally have a cute boys room. You could do jungle, pirate, nature, - my sister has an adorable room, she has tree's and birds and bees on the wall- hmmm.... I'll post them for you. I love you- congrats!

Boys rock, I have two and I couldn't love them more. They cuddle more than girls and typically have a better temperament than girls when they are young. You are going to love having a baby boy. Someday in the future you will have a girl. We have two boys and are just now getting our first girl in 5 weeks. Good luck!
